Protein
ONLINE detection.
It enables the direct detection of protein expression in-vivo.
Conventionally used methods are time consuming. Our innovative strategy
is to label tagged proteins with a detection assay molecule. The
molecule binds non-covalently to a recognition site and highlights the
protein of interest selectively via an optic signal within the cell.
Via simultaneous expression of the desired protein under various
conditions on a 96-well plate scale a first selection of optimal
expression conditions can be easily undertaken. Thus, UNIPEP©
offers finally a reliable preselection and comparision of protein
amounts under different expression conditions.
The system is aimed for pharmaceutical biotechnology to facilitate cost
expensive protein expression and purification for crystallisation and
further screening. Hence, as the detection molecules are
non-covalently bound the purification procedure is not impaired. Other
applications are:
- Protein interaction studies
- Protein localization tests
- Protein in-vivo detection
- Dot blot replacement
NOVELTY
ProteoTec© - the
automated detection machine. For
further simplification UNIPEP© is developing an innovative
detection facility. It combines two major conveniences: The combination
of western blot with SDS-PAGE and the detection of protein amounts in
cell systems. An optical sensor recognizes the detection molecules and
allows further quantification. A long developmental process or the
search for ideal expression conditions step by step are a thing of the
past. In the future ProteoTec© will be a reliable partner to
facilitate expression of proteins. All species of proteins can be
successfully obtained with ProteoTec©. Importantly, this also
includes transmembrane proteins and toxic variants.
To be
the champion – we research a further round
Thus, UNIPEP© research is focused on the future standard of
protein expression. Our expertise and leadership in plant genome
research is behind all our efforts to generate new innovative
approaches in biotechnological methods.
